A year full of rain was like my year of pain

Inclement and full of disdain

I felt so forsaken

As i look back I see that all my hope had been taken

Everything was monotone and my future unknown

I tried to see things in a positive light,

but it was all full of darkness and the same plight

After months of sadness, the sun shone through the rain

And my pain disappeared when that sun came

My year was beginning to feel like no other.

My view of the world had interchanged

the light it shone on my life was a new beginning

The puddles of my tears had dissipated just like my fears

through its shine

and all that remained was a feeling as pure as a dove

And from the light emerged a rainbow of love.
