An Eve to the Curfew

The smiling sun crept into darkness
And in grave silence sat the silly sky
Amidst evening cloud bereaved of moon
Lo, shadowy stars sleeping
Then came the curfew bell calling
Tolling horrifyingly,
waking the dead slumbering night
While chirping minstrels whispered
The crepes creep through doors to doom
Souls cold with innocence and fright
Come morn, mourning nighs
Old curfew bell tolling with sighs
This wanderer's road lay so lonely trod
Path- footed by alien spirits
