Erschroken

Hot water

Salty

Across my face

Through my body

Warmth everywhere

But the worst kind

An overwhleming warmth

Sadness

Of a bond afraid to be broken

Tears

What horrible lovely things

They break you

And bind you to nouns

They stuff up your nose

Fill your head with things not there

Drowning

In thoughts

Imaginary and real

Too many to count

Wondering if you'll ever breathe again

Seeing stars as you go deeper

Feeling lighter

And heavier

Aching

Forever aching

Choking on a pill

A pill so small it's not there

Unable to breathe

Yet again

Then you look around

Searching

For something to release you

Anything

But you'll never find it

Blades

Bullets

And bindings don't know love

To get out

You have to go through it

Through the sadness, tears, drowning and aching

'Til light arises
