It could have been me in California, or at home in Connecticut. Gone.

America prides itself on the land of access and liberty.

When where we have time where the access relates to tangible opportunity of education and retention?

When will the liberty relate to gender and racial equality?

All I see is the access to short cuts and expressions of violence.

All I see is the liberty to act inhumane, and self entitled?

No one is going to talk about the school to prison pipeline and stop and frisk.

And what kills me in the end of the day is that the focus will be on the shooter not the victims. What about those daughters and sons, brothers and sisters who will never have the opportunity to impact the world in a vastly more positive way than the shooter?

Yet our focus is on the shooter with the media always pretending like this is an isolated case. The epidemic of “isolated” cases is killing a generation.
