Envelope in my Junk Drawer

We were in love once, not long ago.

You said that you could never let me go.

You kissed me with all of your energy

Maybe that's why you set me free

We used to sit on my bedroom floor.

But we can't do that anymore.

When you look at me now, all you see is dirt.

I wish I could tell you how much that hurts.

I wish I  could go back

To the times that you still knew how to laugh.

I took down the pictures of us that I had hung up on my wall

I still look at my phone sometimes, hoping you would call.

I had a dream about you last night.

You apologized for everything, and I said it was alright.

I woke up with a heavy chest

Because I realized that you had really left.
