I tremble and shake 

The wind blows my mind away

The cold climate freezes my brain

My heart catches on fire

My pants burn with my lies

The earth quakes with societal pressures 

Moon craters and crumbles against the pain of meteors 

The cat uses one of its nine lives to become a dog 

I tremble and shake

The endless cycle of a never changing past

Everyone wanting something they can never have

Black and White

Red and Blue

Two opposing teams 

A battle for control 

The ultimate power struggle 

I tremble and shake

My soul exhales my sins

I bleed gold as hell reaches a rolling boil 

The final destination. 

I tremble and shake

Living while dying 

Hurting while healing

Bleeding my heart out onto the awaiting concrete where my sins are stained.  

I tremble and shake 

As my dreams are caught by someone else.

Chasing a dream is like being on a treadmill 

You expectations are never reached

I tremble and shake

In my neighborhood 

Following you’re dreams is gonna kill you

Before a gun does 

I tremble and shake

As bullets penetrate walls and doors

The perfect playground for a massacre

The pure blood is spattered in battle projecting the true colors of our nation

I tremble and shake

As mental illnesses are reason to not be prosecuted

Justice is not served in a mental institution 

The pride of my country is ripped away along with my innocence 

I tremble and shake

While the past repeats itself 

How many lives will be lost this time?

I tremble and shake

Is today the day?

We die in a mushroom cloud

Screams pierce the air then we are the dust causing an 10 year old asthmatic to reach for his inhaler 

I tremble and shake

Because following my dreams is impossible because the tail lights are out 

Shooting for the stars is overrated because the sun is also a star. 

I tremble and shake

Dear Mister President,

Is this the future for America?

Living while waiting to die
