The scene unfolds with little warning
Words would have diminished its significance
The moment itself should have lasted forever
Its beauty was terrible

And as I stood there with the few I was with
And I can only imagine how it affected the others
My mind could only fathom the sight in front of me
And my eyes would not wander

I should have thought of those I loved
Though that number was almost nonexistent
I should have treated the time I had left like it was precious
Which it was...I suppose

There was a couple next to me
Held each other dearly
No doubt thinking how much they loved the other
But...
It would all be pointless
Because this was the destruction of the world

We stood at the edge of the earth
Everything around us was crumbling
It did not matter who we were
Because this was the end
