Empty Spaces

Location

I loathe the four corners of this empty room

She fills them with things:

things from thrift shops and flea markets.

From the molding around the ceiling

to a few inches before the floor

the walls are covered.

Cluttered.

Full of things we'd never need.

Suffocating

Inundating.

She spends whole days at the store

searching for another small idol to sit on the shelf.

She clutters the walls

to hide the emptiness of a house

which love has left.
