Emotions Covered in Skin

When I stare at myself in the eyes of others

I think "you're who I want to change"

When I look myself in the mirror and envision who I want to be

I think "yes, you're who I want to be"

The less lonely person with a heart full of

Raw love, joy, and happiness

Not the bitter girl who grew up with hatred

Poisoning her heart and filling her head with

Sadistic ideas of ending life

Her life

I want to tear off the skin of this lonely girl

And replace her with the girl full of moonlight

And evening stars

I'd change everyone like that

Help them tear off the skin of

Raw hatred for themselves and their life

And begin anew

With a better me

And a better you
