Embrace the Shadow

I pump it in my hand and smear it on that specific spot on my face

Instead of embracing, I try keenly to erase it.

I attempt to negotiate with it, but it keeps punching me back.

It makes it unbearable to look at myself, because all i see is black.

Like a dark shadow creeping over me with extreme force

Expanding, dominating, and darkening without any remorse

It will be there inevitably, so it is crucial to learn to love it

I would be undoubtedly happy if i walked around without a worry

Without any filters, I let my birthmark embrace and show how

it won't overpower me. I’m happier when I’m not trying to hide.

Its a mark that doesn’t define me.
