Eighth Grade

The last year of middle school

when so many things changed

The year I truely grew up

and had to change

The year I joined the high school marching band

and made new friends

The year I realized my friend wasn't okay

something was wrong

The year my friend was in so much pain

she began to cut

The year I had no idea what to do

how to heal or help her pain

The year I had to answer questions

I never thought I would

The year that me and my friend

made it through afterall

The year that I knew

I was no longer a child

The year that I knew

I could no longer pretend
