Educational Debt

Work your butt off,

They all say,

No one cares about the struggles.

Oh, you will make it,

But only if you try.

No one sees the struggle,

the pain, and anguish we all go through.

Coming out of college,

With all of the debt;

Like it is a part of us,

Carrying it with us everywhere we go.

There is no escaping for what happens next.

Poverty hits and,

Just like that our life is flipped.

Working our butts of.

Making our jobs less fun,

More about the money than anything.

Carrying for me and my family.

Trying to make so many people;

Trying to live the life,

The life I imagined.

When will life go back?

Back to play grounds,

Back to when nap time was still a thing.

Back when things were simple, no worries.

But now it is time to grow up,

To make a name for myself.

To grow by myself,

Make everyone proud.

But first to get out of the debt.

The debt that I will be living with.

Like it is a part of me.

I part I wish to lose more than anything.

I worked so hard throughout my life,

Only to be rewarded by debt.
