Education Depreciation

Location

When I was young, my father always told me

"Son, work hard and one day you'll make much money."

At that time, I was still trying to sustain basic relations

I didn't worry much about public education.

But now, here I am, senior year of high school.

Everywhere I look, kids trying to be cool.

And for what? Looks can only get you so far

Until that one asian kid begins raising the bar.

What's this I hear government's cutting our funds?

Just so politicians can take the cash and run?

This is the future they're stripping from, young, fresh minds

I never knew that politicians could be so freakin' blind.

If you can hear me now, president, I have one thing to say

Stop darkening the future, please,  reevaluate

This is your future, our destiny; we can achieve greatness

But that's only possible if educational funding awaits us
