The Echoes of a Gun Shot

Heavy hearts beating,

As hard footsteps slap

Against the ground,

In the shape of a flee.

Blood curling screams,

In the form of a plea,

Sends shivers through the city.

The gun shots

Pierce the air,

And sends fear

Across the nation.

That shows the very promise,

That our freedom

Is up for negotiation.

Crows darken the skies,

As beautiful, onyx bodies

Keep hitting the ground.

They keep telling us that,

“Guns don’t kill people,

People kill people”

But it is both,

Guns and people

Killing our people
