Drown
I always wanted to know what it’d feel
Like to drown. No noise. No Nothing.
Emptiness fills me with beauty.
My hands are skeleton keys to the place
That is far away. Out of reach. Nowhere to go.
I’m stuck- I want out but I can't get there.
My mind is gone and six feet under
Layers of rocks and mud and death.
Old gloves that no longer fit, I put them
Up on the rack and try to forget
All about the horrible, horrible
Things.
My lungs are weak and tattered with moth eaten holes
That just keep growing and growing and growing
With every word I hear, and I’m so scared that one day
You’ll leave me again and I’ll have to relive
That day all over again.
I always wanted to know what it’d feel
Like to drown. No noise. No Nothing.
Gone.
