Drop O' Song No Longer

And now is wiped away

A single drop

Or better yet

A single song no longer

A somber sound

One Wished upon

On short farewells,

yet no return

Know no restraint

A restless wait

And yet is not,

No longer

Sounds reek,

A ruthless shriek

A sharp sting of distant, distraught silver

Or lady’s hands in manic sleep

Or lust for soundless simple nights

Or lingering notes unwantedly so

But notes not shrill nor dare in light

And never ought,

No longer

But wiped away, was I?

Now dried,

There is a numbing

Near no more

A stingy stinging,

Known before

Whose solemn spirit somberly sets

Amidst the wrinkled melodic lines

and withering eyes alike, along

A single song

Now, wiped away

A single drop

No longer
