Drive Safely

Wed, 10/25/2017 - 17:00 -- amb112

there comes a point when

she'll wake up with red, puffy eyes

instead of her smile crinkling them

as she reads good morning.

they won't look at you the same way--

the butterflies in your stomach

will turn into guilt

accusing you of breaking into

the very windows of her soul.

there comes a point when

her lips will appear to be naked

and you'll wonder why it's colorless

cause you know she loves lipstick.

they won't pout the same way--

no longer a cute weapon

to get you to do something,

but an involuntary action,

a default emotion.

there comes a point when

the sway of her body will change

and it won't be swaying towards you

with your magnetic field deteriorating.

it won't appear the same way--

the halls will seem to be less crowded

when really it was just her who

wanted to have her body so close to you

in the first place as you walked together.

there comes a point when

you'll come across these points

and you'll have to see the signs

to avoid further wrecks and accidents.

people often go the wrong way--

they try to see how far they can go

without damaging anything,

not saving themselves early enough

ending up completely crashing.
