No little girl
Ever dreams of getting hurt.
She dreams of traveling far,
Not being covered in scars.
She dreams of climbing the highest peaks,
Not being called an outcast or freak.
She dreams of always being accepted,
Not constantly rejected.
She dreams she'll always have her mother,
Not losing her emotionally one way or another.
She dreams of having her own family,
Not realizing it is never meant to be.
She dreams of finding her Prince Charming,
Not some guy who batters emotionally.
She dreams of being someone perfect,
Not a soul fit for torment.
She dreams of looking like a beauty,
Not someone treated with physical cruelty.
She dreams of living happy and long,
Not being desperate to belong.
Used, tormented, hurt,
These are not the dreams
Of a little girl.

don't let people drag you down to the depths they're in, break away. you don't have to be a prisoner of your own self because everyone else treats you that way.
