Dreamer's Struggle (Success Is But A Dream)

I intend to leave my footprints wherever I go Where I'm going only the heavens know I'm going to live my life, not fast, but slow Indulging in the hardships of becoming successful Walk in my shoes, my life is anything but a joke Travel from being hungry to being piss broke Envious of all the kids born with rich folk While my feet bleed walking across life's rocky road Just put on my only pair of nike's and go for a run Go where I have been and go see what I'll become Don't tell me, I won't need to know where I'm going, Hun For I know there is no end, my dreams are never done No food, no money, You're damn near poor You try to feel grateful for there are others who don't have more It hurts, but there is something here in my heart's core Believing that I will rise up, jump up, and soar And on this empty stomach my dreams become stronger Voices telling me to "keep pushing it's just a little longer" And to them I'll listen if it stops my hunger For I know I'll earn my place soon and when I do, I'm in it for the long run I live in the shadows of could've and would've beens Listening to what they could've or would've did But I'll learn from it and allow my life story to begin I'll uncover life's secret, passing it on to my kin It is that, success is but a dream created by the dreamers Who become these over zealous believers Varying from the hard workers to the over achievers We are the ones that will be the "succeeders" I will be a walking dream... In due time Happy as ever, on me, the sun will shine And Success is with whom I will dine But my dreams, for now, grows through the grapevine Success is what you make it And when I make it, I'll look at what I've created I'll stand back amazed... even elated! But then I'll sit back with my happiness deflated Thinking... I still have dreams beyond this moment I thought once I got it I would hold it But I believe I'll do more, my dreams have shown it I'll do the impossible and chant "this life, I own it!" And in that moment I will realize Success is but a dream created by us dreamers Who become the incredibly over zealous believers Varying from the hard workers to the over achievers We are the ones that are the Succeeders
