Dream (Adaptation of Langston Hughes "Dream Deferred")

What happens to a dream deferred, one effected by the natural boundaries of life?

Boundaries set by the people who do not wish for you to succeed and those who wish suffering upon you

A dream deferred will not be a dream of mine

If a dream is deferred will it be thought of by another person, will it be tainted by one’s own greed, or will another person do better with it than you?

A deferred dream is a destructive one for there is no one who will act on your dream as you would.

The limits of ones imagination is as unlimited as ones determination.

I dream to one day take the world by storm proving that nothing is as impossible as possibility itself.

If we do not challenge the impossibilities of life are we even worthy to call anything impossible

A dream deferred I will never do for the man is always watching.

When I was 12 I was curious of what I would amount to and what I would be remembered as once my time is up.

I was at church one day, sitting, listening to the pastor speak, and I saw him, the man, that man walk through the door. I remember not what he looked like but what he said. After greeting the other people around him he looked to me and said, “Son, you are gifted and intelligent, don’t let anyone stop you from achieving your goals, you will amount to the great things god has set for you.”

As fast as he said that he left. Leaving me sitting there speechless

A dream deferred will not be a dream of mine, inspired by the words of this man, doubting I will see him again, I will prove his theory to thank him for giving me the words I needed to hear.

A deferred dream is a destructive dream for a dream sets a legacy to others by inspiring them to be the best they can be.

A dream deferred will not be a dream of mine
