Down These Burning Ropes

 

 Here we go, 

Watch as I swing into the edge of the world. 

Listen as the ropes erode at the tree bark above 

With every push and pull. 

Smell the ancient dust from the fibers of the rope 

That are snapping and 

Taste the bitter air. 

Feel the torrid rope as you try to stop. 

Here we go, 

Watch as I fall off the edge of the world, 

What’s below is unknown.
