Down by the riverbed

You found her down by the riverbed

she was alive but her soul was dead

she tried to cry for help

but she couldn't even make a yelp

she just wanted to run away

that's not what happened that day

she was looking for a great escape

but darling that was not her fate

she didn't like how her cards were dealt

she didn't like how she felt

so she tried to run away from all the blame

she ran and she ran but the darkness overcame

everything about her was washed away by the water

she used to be some ones proud little daughter

now they say she is a child of the devil

everything about her reminds me of evil

all that's left of her is her body

a temple that she respected so proudly

she wasn't thinking with her head

she dug her grave in her bed

she had needs

so she did the deeds

she lost her innocence

she lost her conscience

she lost her way

what more is there to say
