Don't Touch Me

Location

I build and maintain this wall, but hide myself behind it's splendor.

A polished marble finish hides the broken skin unmended.

Have my jewels, have my hearts, have my anger.

But don't chop at this wall til I am nothing but hindered.

Your brash and careless hands encompass my

soft flakey skin. You cannot think ahead, nor comprehend

How fragile I am. My bones crunch and I lash out at the thought.

The feedback makes you cringe and my feelings are left to dust.

The I am once again rebuilt with barely any strength

and I build up my walls and beg in a hushed voice,

"Please don't touch me again."
