This Don't Make No Sense

Location

Hi my ame is Ari, but to you I'm just a statistic

To you my qualifications don't matter

I'm just a black face walking into your white building

I already know that this white lady will get paid more than me

Even it her qualifications are lower than me

To you I can't,

To you i shouldn't is what you tell me

To me I can,

To me i will is what i tell me

You  say she's fine,

But I'm not

Because her skin is light it makes her hot

This don't make no sense

I'm just as beautiful as any other girl

"Your skins too dark"

I'm just as BEAUTIFUL as any other girl

Light skins are seen as Gods and Goddesses,

But some of our greatest king and queens were the same tone as me

I'm tired of this light skin, dark skin battle

We need to come together as one black community and battle,

But thanks to the white man we still keep difference

This don't make no sense

Now let me move on to the men

We got this notion that light skins are simps,

And dark skins are hard and don't let down there guard

Does it really even matter?

We got parents bleaching their kids,

And kids wishing their color didn't give

Making them forget get to admire the pigment in their skin

This don't make no sense

We are all equally beautiful

Let's come together as one

We are all equally beautiful

Let's lift each other up

We are all equally beautiful

Remember where we came from?

We are all equally beautiful

I'm done
