Don't Look for Me Again

You are more important

And you shouldn’t feel my torment

I tried so hard to hide myself

Despite signs of declining health

When I descend into the chasm

Of my idealized phantasm

I forget I once was precious

 With young and vital freshness

I forget my own identity

And become an empty entity

So I wear this mask of sorrows

Lost dreams with no tomorrows

True self cannot be found

Inner child has been drowned

Folks don’t like my eyes

They cut straight through the lies

If they try and find my soul

They will find a gaping hole

The one behind the curtain

Is broken, that is certain

If we’ve ever disagreed

If you’ve ever seen me bleed

Then I ask you

Please forget me.
