Don't let me go.

“Don’t let me go.” I don’t want to fall into the dark again.

I am hanging off a cliff. “Please don’t let me fall. I don’t want to fall.”

“I won’t let you go. I won’t let you go.”

“Don’t let me fall!” Your grip is starting to falter. “Don’t let me go!”

“I won’t let you go. Try to hold on.” I am clinging for my life.

“Don’t let me go!” “I won’t let you go. I will get you out.”

“Help me! Don’t drop me!”

“I will never let you go!” I slide a little further. I scream.

“Don’t let me go!”

“I’m trying. I won’t drop you.”

“I can’t hold on!”

“I won’t let you go.”

“Don’t let me fall!”

I do. You let go. I slipped through your fingers. I can see you. I hear you scream.

Or maybe it’s mine. I can’t stop falling. There is no way out of this one.

“You said you wouldn't drop me!”

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I’m sorry.” You are fading. It’s dark where I’m falling.

I hope it won’t hurt when I die. I close my eyes.

“You said. You wouldn’t let me go but you did.”

My last thought is of you.
