Don't Kill Yourself

Mon, 09/02/2013 - 18:37 -- DaXue

Suicide.

If you're like most people, you've tasted the word on your tongue.

If you're like me, you've rolled it around in your mind

Like a wine full of bitter but a little bit sweet.

Count the bitter pieces in that wine.

I mean it.

Right now.

Count them.

All of them. Tally them up like the pills you're thinking so hard about taking.

The bitter pieces.

Who would miss you if you were gone?

A hell of a lot of people, that's who,

Even if you don't think so.

I would miss you, and I don't even know you.

So count them.

This second.

I said: COUNT THEM.

What else can this world possibly hold for you?

Too much to die so young. No matter who you are or where you're from,

There is always the wind and the sun in the sky and the sweet soil

There are people to meet and places to go

Your own life to make better

And other lives to touch.

So count them on your fingers, then your toes, then the hairs on your head

And the stars in the sky.

Because they're there.

So count them.

Do it NOW.

Does the good in the world outweigh the pain?

Hell, yes.

It doesn't look like it right now, I know.

But you'll look back later and think about it.

And you'll be very

Very

Very

Very

Happy that you're alive.

And so will I.

So do what I said and count those bitter pieces

Because those rank drops in the wine of suicide

Are the sweet parts of your life

Even if they haven't happened yet,

They're out there. Waiting for you to come and reach for them.

The bitter pieces.

The sweet ones.

So do the world a favor.

Drop the pills

The knife

The gun.

Drop the draught that is suicide.

Do the world a favor

And don't kill yourself.

Because the world needs you.

And even though I might be halfway across the world,

So do I.

:)
