Don't Judge Me

Just because I walk like this
People want to stare.
Just because of the color of my skin
Or the coarseness of my hair.

Just because of the way I dress
You think you can look down on me?
Just because of this accent of mine
You think you can walk over, through, but not around me?

Well, I say no more!
Stop this judgement!
Stop the stereotypes you have of me!
In the end, I am still heaven sent.

Stop the persecution
Stop the harsh words
Stop all the hating
Like that, your voice will never get heard.

Walk with me, not against.
Talk to me, not about.
Cross the line, don't stand on the other side of this picket fence.
Include me too, don't just leave me out.

White, red, brown, or yellow.
Color just doesn't matter.
What we say and do does.
Those are the things that should bring us laughter.

Stand up and fight for me.
Fight for yourself too.
Fight for a world with peace.
That's what Martin would do.
