Don't Cry Daddy

I see you looking at a old photo of me in the picture frame.
You began to cry and say my name.
You use to call me your little princess.
I remember when you and mom bought me that pink dress.
Everything was fine.
Those were the good times.
I see you grab your alcohol.
You began to slide down the wall.
You reached for your gun and pointed it to your head.
"I'm going to kill myself!" You said.
I stopped you before you could
shoot.
I said, "No dad! Don't do it! What's wrong with you?"
I hugged him and kissed his cheek.
"Is it really you?" He asked. I said, "Yes, it's me."
I said, "Dad, you don't need to do this."
I took the gun and held his wrist.
He said, " You're right, sweetheart. I should've been smart."
I gave him a hug.
My final time was up.
My dad cried, "I love you."
I said, "I love you, too."
"Don't cry daddy. It's gonna be okay. I will be with you always."
