Do you see what I see?

Location

Do you see what I see?

Without filters

Without makeup

My hair is natural and ever changing with the seasons

Eyes as brown as coffee

Reflecting my mother’s

Down to earth and genuine

They have seen many things

Good, bad, happy and sad

Those things they have seen will never go away

But stay in my heart forever.

The scar on my chin

Never disappearing

Showing my imperfections

Do you see what I see?

I am unique

I am passionate

I love many things

And I love those things deeply

Do you see what I see?

I try to fit in

Then I realize

There is no certain mold

I am my own person

I am the only one like me out there.

Do you see what I see?

Dance will always be my one true love

It will stay with me until I am old and gray

I am confident

Expressive

I am never afraid

But only dance brings this out of me

Other things I cannot remain assured

I second guess myself

I reread what I have written

I ask questions

Do you see what I see?

There are things about myself in which I love

There are changes I may wish to make

But one thing is for certain

Who I am is what I’ll take.

Do you see what I see?
