The Divide

Location

Day in and day out the children study

To become something that can make money

What they don't realize is that choice dead

They and their fate have already been wed

Today in class, you're one of many groups

Maybe you're a scholar, successful in school

If that describes you, you're one of many dukes

You'll live a life, with any luck, that is of a jewel.

But what if you didn't like the scholarly life?

What if the gleam of learning, to you, was rife?

What will the school system have for you,

the one who chose not to devour their stew?

Your life will be quite depressing and vile

What would take most minutes will take you a mile

And all of it just because you shun their drink

They take away your mind, not allowed to think

Your fate is nigh sealed by how you work in school

No matter what you do, be not a fool

Your opportunities are limitless

So long as in school you have diligence
