Discovered Serenity

I've found another

I murmur gently

One, who may not love me in the same blistering way you did

But in a way that's soft and gentle

Like the touch of soft, soothing water.

Running over the burn marks that left only devastion in their wake.

Akin to the feeling of seeing a long lost friend and finding solace in their embrace

I've found another

I pause looking at them

They may not love me like the burning fire that was deeply lit in your heart

And the stong, swift, but destructive nature of the courses you choose to take.

But they love me

In their own unique way

They love me in such a way

Such a beautiful and serene way

That I can almost forget that a forrest fire once loved me.

They remind me of the light of a full moon guiding a path

The soft, warm, gentle rain that falls during the summer

The carress of the controlled fire while finding solace in a world of fantasy

They are soft and gentle

And everything I've never experienced

But they love me

And someday when you are but a faint memory

Reshaped like the sand dunes in the great Sahharah Desert

I can tell them, I love you.
