Dirt

Among the pearlescent waters

I stride across the sand

Breathe in the salt water

Stretch out my hands

All of these grains beneath my feet

Are the ungranted wishes that I seek

I tried a million things

Dandelions, lashes and smoke rings

I tried the numbers

I tried prayers before I slumber

Nothing seems to work

My whispers are just dirt.
