Different

Honestly, I was born in the wrong era

into a time of progression

my values constantly put down

because I'm "special."

No, just different.

So go ahead and critisize

I may be a traditionalist

but at least I know who I am.

I'm a woman who is not afraid to write

looking past her own religion,

race,

political standing

I'm a woman who can at least admit

I hate being different sometimes

but I am who I am

and I will never hate myself for that.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
Our world
