Destroying a Rainforest for Economic Gain

Destroying a Rainforest for Economic Gain

Destroying a rainforest for economic gain

And torching a Picasso to heat food are the same

Make no mistake if you don’t heed what I say

Future generations will have a severe price to pay

Cherish earth’s resources; its status is finite

A sustainable human condition is not our birthright

By dismissing what scientists state are facts

With eyes shut to long-term ad-verse impacts

The planet we’ll leave for our next of kin

Will be a daunting challenge to continue in

Be at the forefront to reverse global warming

Don’t purchase from corporations eschewing reforming

What you do today will be linked

To whether we survive or become extinct
