Destroyed Dreams: A Letter to My Parents

You never asked me what I wanted

Instead you told me what I would and will

It was never about me

It was you living through me

So I could see

All the things you never had, or could do, or could be

Please….

Let me be me

Express the individual who I was created to be

And ya I once had dreams

But now they only come true and become pursued in a dream, when i sleep

And when I wake up

The dreams in the dream are destroyed

And forgotten

And abolished

Then recreated into your dream that’s not in a dream

But actually in actual reality

This poem is about:
Me
My family
