Descartes Would Be Proud...All I Need Is My Mind

All I need is my mind,

And, in turn, my thoughts refined,

For as Descartes would have sworn,

That is all I truly own.

If I were gone and never found,

Or stranded somewhere underground,

Or on a deserted island lost,

I'd keep my mind at any cost.

For dead or gone or never there,

All I will ever want to bear,

Is the dead weight of my mind,

For that is all that's mine.

Then when the night begins to rise,

And I slowly start to realize,

This mind is my insanity,

And all of what is left of me.
