Depression

It pierced into me
Broke into my soul
Sucked life out of me

Can I relate it to the unsettling tide
Or a violent storm
Because
In my life it took a beastly form

My heart is blue as the sky
And the dreams that once flew high
Not crawl like wingless flies
The tears
That once blurred my eyes
They too chose to depart
It is not precious to live monotonously

The fears
that rest in my soul
Are what I now call comrades
For mine is a life, desolate
Forsaken by humanity

I swallow the pain
And I let the rain
Wash away the very breath in me
