This emptiness inside of me,

I really can't explain

how everything I try to do

slowly fades to grey.

Imagine yourself standing

in the bottom of a pit

no way out

no way in.

youre stuck where you are

no one coming to save you.

darkness surrounds you

and swallows any hope of light.

That is depression.

The swallowing of hope.

The engulfment of dreams.

The inability to fight back.

Think of your last meltdown,

When the world seemed so cold.

Remember how it felt

to have someone to hold?

Now imagine that same moment,

that same fraction of time,

but imagine no one there to save you,

no one to catch you just in time.

Be that hand to guide someone,

Be that shining light.

For what may seem little to you,

just might save a life.
