dentures

she points to her old teeth.

she asks me if she should get them all pulled out,

all at once, or one by one, a process.

partial dentures? full dentures? not yet sure.

my slimy tongue slides around

the inside of my quiet mouth,

gliding over every tooth.

thankful for every one.

thankful for youth.
