Deliverence

::Build me a home of stone and dust
Light up the fire with roses and lust//
Lay me a bed of feathers and clouds
Sing me a song of the torn and the vowed//
Show me dissenters with rocks in their slings
As they prove the vain of their cowardly kings//
Now hand me your burden and deep cutting chain
For I know that your face has yet to feel rain::

::Though safe and sound, the night haunts me well
Eyes closed shut, still looking at hell//
The scratches they burn, indefinitely scarred
Open my eyes to the branded and barred//
My heart holds taught, your stories hold pain
They creep inside my soul where they stain//
Time is slow to mend your fear
So dance for the broken, the lost and sincere::

::Around my feet I see flowers bloom
Whispers break the empty room//
Hands pierce through beneath the grass
To piece together broken glass//
Your skin glows brighter with every turn
A spinning star of endless burn//
Deliverance forms its golden rose
Its light awoke from out the shadows::
