Deliverance 3

 Psalm 51:17   New English Translation

17 The sacrifice God desires is a humble spirit—

O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.

Grace unconditional is the work of God’s caring Heart

In the midst of trials will the recognition come before

Paralyzation, that major force, to make our spirit err

A broken spirit, a contrite heart will be able to open doors

An attitude that trembles before God after having sinned

A fearful expectation to know that Christ shall come again

An understanding, that depravity still boils quietly deep within

That part does not stay away and like a volcano spews out sin

The sin that easily besets me, that seems to wait at the gate

It is not one but a hundred weaknesses I’m still able to count

And if I’m in sin’s neighborhood it chocks me on its slate

Corrupt to the core, my flesh, engrained in each and every pound

Even when I repent I’ll find that this special gift of God

My prayers seem hollow then for "myself" is in the way

He will not provide at will whenever I behave like a sloth

Attached to my old nature always seeking for a better day

It is almost like a bearing that fails and just grinds away

Until it is red and hot as it burns the fake facade away

It almost appears so natural like it always was that way

I am so used to falling short as that appears like the only way
