decisions

Location

in your mind
you stand alone
with the white walls and floor
that never seem to end.
step.
nothing.
step.
nothing.
step.
something.
stop.
the floor rumbles as it spreads
and splits in two
revealing darkness -
an abyss.
with one foot on one side,
and one foot on the other
you hesitate.
what can you do?
the black spreads.
jump.
you land,
white beneath your feet.
look.
the black spreads,
pushing white from white
widening the gap
until it’s too late.
where you stand is where you stay.
pause.
step.
something.
run.
every step splits your stance
with one foot on one side,
and one foot on the other.
jump
after jump
after jump.
stop.
you stand alone.
turn.
white diverges over black,
twisting and turning
into paths you did
and did not take.
turn.
white walls,
white floor.
step.
