December

I loved her for a little

But I loved her a whole lot

Time took away the middle

So the end was  all we got

And it matters not we lasted

Days to months, not even years

For she gave me every happiness

From her smile to her tears

But if I could go back once more

To fulfill the dreams inside my head

I’d swiftly kiss her lips

Before the sun goes dark and dead
