The Decaying of a Nation

The land of the free,

The home of the brave,

Building up walls

That will only decay

Liberty and Justice,

For a select few

For the rest of the people

It doesn’t seem to ring true

Segregation and hatred

Has swept our sad nation

Riots in the streets

Where we used to vacation

Our rights being stripped

But nobody listens

We are easily distracted

By objects that glisten

Wall street with the wolves

Homeless stacked in the streets

Praying in churches

Accepting defeat

What has become

Of the place we call home?

Violence and division

Have swallowed us whole.

We were once a strong community

A powerful net work

But now we’re constantly worried

About celebrities net worth

Changes must be made

We must fill ourselves with wisdom

To break the vile cycle

And free ourselves from the system.
