Dear Teacher,

I am the black girl sitting in the back of your classroom

The black girl that deals with racism day after day

The black girl that goes through hell day after day

And I want to say something to you

I am quite

I am quite but the words I do speak are powerful

Powerful than all jokes and all laughter that gets thrown my way

My words are powerful and with that I demand the attention and the respect that I do deserve

I am physically weak

I am weak but my mind is strong

Stronger than all bullies and all lies that are being told on me

My mind is strong and with that I am blessed with the ability to push past negativity

My words and my mind are a deadly weapon

With these I can transform from the ignorant nigger that people think I am

I transform into a powerful, strong, beautiful black woman

The same type of woman you think I'm not capable of being

And I want to say something to you

Fuck You
