Dear Rachel

Dear child, why do you hurt all the time?

Don't you see that your life brings joy to mine?

Dear friend, won't you please smile at me?

Seeing your dimples is all that I need.

Dear pal, won't you give me your melodious laughter?

Hearing that sweet song is the source of my comfort.

Dear buddy, don't you realize your worth?

I wouldn't trade you for all the diamonds of the earth.

Dear comrade, don't you see that your my rock?

You are like the anchor, holding me at the dock.

Dear partner, won't you open your eyes?

Within you, the stars have found refuge from the skies.

Dear Rachel, put your gentle hand in mine.

Oh light of my life, it is your time to shine.
