Dear Person Whose Life I Tried to Make Perfect,

Hi, I’m Life, the one and only. The one who tried to give you the perfect life. Remember the time when you were 5 and you got that adorable dog? I tried to pick the perfect dog who wouldn’t cause any trouble. You really loved him. I couldn’t stop the time when he was taken away one night. So I left you some money. You thought it was your parents who gave it to you, but they had no clue. Remember the time when you were 10 and won your school’s talent show? I tried to give you the energy and talent you needed. You were so happy when you were given that 1st place trophy. I couldn’t stop the time when the other kids started saying mean things to you afterwards. So I left you a stuffed dog to cheer you up. You thought it was your grandparents who gave it to you, but they had no clue. Remember the time when you were 13 and got your first mascara? I tried to make your skin perfect so you wouldn’t need makeup. You really enjoyed using makeup. I couldn’t stop the time  when your makeup ran down your face after your first breakup. So I left you a trophy saying how strong you were. You thought it was your friends who gave it to you, but they had no clue. Remember the time when you were 19 and had your first kid with your amazing husband? I tried to create a healthy baby. You were overwhelmed with happiness. I couldn’t stop the time when your daughter was diagnosed with cancer. So I left you gifts of everything. You thought it was your co-workers who gave it to you, but they had no clue. Remember the time when you were 35 and your daughter got her first boyfriend? I tried to pick the perfect boy to love your bald daughter. You really loved that boy. I couldn’t stop the time when his parents disapproved of her. So I left you a car for the couple to take a trip. You thought it was your daughter’s doctor who gave it to you, but he had no clue. Remeber the time when you were 76 and fell ill? I tried to avoid any health concerns for you. You were so upset in that hospital bed. I couldn’t stop the time when your doctor said you had a week left to live. So I left you this letter I am now writing. You thought it was God who gave it to you, but you had no clue. I give you this letter to show you the times I felt bad for not giving the perfect life. I tell you now that you will see me later and we’ll talk about your life and the next one you’ll live. For now, live your life the way you want.
