Dear Love

Dear Love,

For someone so nurturing to others

You sure are disloyal to me

Why is it

That you come so

Faithfully.

Gracefully.

Constantly.

To others…

Yet, when I finally snag a glance

Of you, Love…

You turn your back

Without a glance into my eyes

Without a touch of your hand to mine.

Love, do I even know you?

Will I ever know you

If you refuse

To make contact

With me?

Are you real, Love?

Are you real?

The Love I imagined wouldn’t watch me suffer

While they turned around to leave

To spare themselves the suffering

Would you do that, Love?

The Love I imagined wouldn’t take pieces of me away

Break

Me

A

Part

And take pieces that I would

Never

Get

Back

Pieces that

Love wouldn’t even want.

Love.

Why did you do this to me.

Why did you break everything my heart had.

You aren’t Love, Love.

I don’t know you.

You

Are

A

Monster.

Please leave, Love.

Don’t come back.

Until you tell me who you really are.

Then, I’ll know what to expect...

From you.

-Cara
