Dear Life

For long lengths of time,

We go through marvelous adventures,

Or journeys to different worlds,

But what happens when it ends?

What happens when I finish that last page,

And bring the covers of my book back together?

What happens to that world,

That I once felt a part of?

What happens when it ends?

Does everything end, just like that,

Or does the story continue,

Not caring if those whose worlds once revolved around it

Are still there, grasping for more?

What happens when it ends?

Is that just it then?

There’s no more information to give,

Or is it that there is more,

And you’re just too reluctant to show it.

What happens when it ends?

Should we fear what is in store,

Or should we embrace the struggles

And use them to make ourselves better?

We are all lost and need guidance,

What happens when it ends?

You’ve thrown some curveballs at me,

Which I have struggled with,

Some make me question

And others make me strong,

But what happens when it ends?

What happens when I face them head on?

What happens when I pass them along,

Like they never bothered me?

Or when my emotions are too heavy that all I feel is numb?

All I want to know is, What happens when it ends?
